Ultimate CP history

Club Penguin History started sometime between 1999 and 200. Club Penguin that we are playing now was not always like that. All started when the site “www.rocketsnail.com” (that you could play free games)made a new game, experimental penguins, an online multiplayer game.

Exparimental penguins (1998/9-2000):

It is the penguin chat1? Yeh, and there was NEVER penguin chat1 but many people call the penguin chat2 “penguin chat1″. In fact the first version of penguin chat was the “Exparimental Penguins”. It’s not that similiar with the next versions. It had three “worlds”:

Snow Room

The Snow Room is just a white area. However, it is the most popular room.

North Pole

The North Pole is similar the Snow Room, except it has a red and white striped pole on one side of it.

Crash Site

The crash site is a room that is next to a frozen lake. It has a Snow Cat with rockets next to the lake.

Penguin Chat 2 had also just exactly these worlds (and some more details added) but it had not these characters that only Exparimental Penguin had:

Angus

laouralexex2Features: Guitar

Bob the Rasta

laouralexex4Features: Sunglasses and some hip-hop stuff.

Disco Dirk

laouralexex5Features: Purple Sunglasses and afro hair

Ice P

laouralexex1Features: Long hair and a green-red-yellow hat

John the Punk

laouralexexFeatures: Green Punk hair (just like that one in club penguin but in green)

Skeeter

laouralexex3Features: Blue T-Shirt, Skateboard and skate shoes

Penguin Chat 2&3 (2000-2005):

The Penguin Chat logo

Penguin Chat 2 also known as ”Penguin Chat” had the same rooms (worlds) with the “Exparimental Penguins”. But it gave a choice of more actions like throwing snowballs etc.

Just before Club Penguin, there was something called Penguin Chat3 (2005). You used to be able to play it on the site “rocketsnail.com” (Yes, that’s what “rsnail” stands for), but as of now, they have closed down the site so everyone visits “clubpenguin.com” instead.

Back then, the whole thing was free. It was actually very similar to Club Penguin, except there was only one place you could go to, the Town. There wasn’t a Cove, Snow Forts (in fact they were under construction), Dojo, or your own home or anything else, but the Town. In fact, the Town looked very similar to how it looks now, but there was more chairs and tables outside the Coffee Shop, and it was also snowing!

The Night Club was incredibly similar. The major differences were that the Band played on the stage, rather than the DJ thing with the speakers (but there were Speakers there). And there was no green puffle dancing on the speakers, and there were no stairs leading to the upper floor (there wasn’t an upper floor). And you could get to the secret Boiler room by walking onto the wire of the lower righthand Speaker. The point of the game was just to throw snowballs, dance, and chat.
Talking about snowballs, in Penguin Chat, snowballs were a little bit different. No, they looked the exact same, but when you threw them at people, sometimes you would miss horribly. The radar that shows up when you push the Snowball button in Club Penguin was different in Club Penguin. It would also snow sometimes in the Town.
The Coffee shop was somewhat boring, there was no upper level, and you couldn’t play Bean Counter there. Back then, everyone used to pretend they were Coffee shop waiters.

And there were no coins or way of earning coins. And if you tried to walk to the left of the town, you’d go to an area of nothing but snow (and a few decorations), if you went to the left of that (through a ’secret hill’), you’d up in another bigger area of snow with a pretty blue sky. In this specific area, you might see a bunch of penguins in snowcats (look it up in dictionary) driving around. Then if you went left again, there would be a bunch of penguins just walking around with hard hats on that are probably drilling the ground (with construction gear and railings all over the place and a crane in the distance), and then if you went left again, you’d be back at the Town (so it was kinda a circle). And you could also do the same thing if you started off going right from the Town.

In the toolbar, there was only the chatbox, the snowball button, the actions button, the emotes button, a ‘Tell a Joke’ button, and the enter button. To change color, you would click a Color change button on the chatbar, and select a different color. There was no map.

Pictures:

*Almost all the pictures of Penguin Chat 3 are bad and rare ’cause penguins then had not invented blogs and some just took pointless pictures but after a lot of time these people became famous when they published ‘em and there was no penguin chat.

Club Penguin (2005 until now):

Beta testing:

Sometime in 2005 summer everything changed! There was no penguin chat even more. The adress of the site became”www.clubpenguin.com“. Everything was under construction! The logo, the pages the texts everything! . Rocketsnail team named that new game “Club Penguin” but you couldn’t play it yet. The game was temporary down for some time. Many people those times quited ’cause they were angry of all these changes. They lost their accounts in the old game and all their stuff.  After you were able to play it, of had a ton of bugs! It was the “beta” version of club penguin. Some penguins used to like finding bugs and report them (by leaving a comment) in the “What’s new blog”. After beta testing finished the launch celebrated with the famous Beta Test Party! People that joined during beta testing are famous as “beta testers”. They love to wear the first club penguin item, the holly beta tester hat! Beta Testers use to go in the server “Frozen”, one of the first servers of Club Penguin. I have seen many betas there. Betas have always a big crowd around them.

Here is a picture of the holy beta tester hat:

Here is a picture of the map then:

As you can see in the picture there was no mine, plaza, forest, snowforts, beach and cove. See below for all the parties’ and other’s history!
